COVID-19 UPDATE

Barbour Orthopaedics & Spine continues to closely monitor the coronavirus (“COVID-19”) pandemic via the Centers for Disease Control (“CDC”), (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019- ncov/index.html), Georgia Department of Public Health (“DPH”) and the World Health Organization (“WHO”). As you are aware, CDC’s protocols are constantly developing to combat this pandemic, and we are implementing procedures in real-time in accordance with CDC’s protocols to help lesson any impact on our providers, staff and patients and our larger community in Metro-Atlanta.

In-Office Visits

All of our locations remain open. We will continue to see our current patients that require care subject to the CDC protocols and guidelines.

In an effort to assist area hospitals and reduce the number of patients seeking emergency treatment from emergency rooms during this global pandemic, Barbour Orthopaedics & Spine will treat patients with acute traumatic orthopaedic injuries regardless of their health insurance plan. Please contact us at 404-480-9330 to set up an in-office visit or telemedicine visit.

Among other precautions that we have implemented, we are pre-screening patients before an appointment is scheduled and do further screening prior to seeing any patients. All employees and visitors are also being screened. In addition, we try to schedule enough time between appointments to limit the number of people in our facilities at any given time. We request that any patients, guests, vendors or employees who have had a fever in the last 24 hours, have a cough or shortness of breath, been in close contact with a person with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 or if you have traveled within the last thirty (30) days to a high-risk area impacted by COVID-19 as set forth by the CDC, please contact us to reschedule your appointment or surgery.

If you are concerned that you are infected with COVID-19 or any infectious disease or if you are concerned that you may have been exposed, please implement the processes that the Georgia Department of Health (“DPH”) and the CDC has recommended, including contacting your primary care physician, emergency room or the DPH. Finally, please do not bring visitors with you to your appointments unless the patient is a minor or the patient requires assistance.

We recognize that this is a challenging time, but we are striving to do what is in the best interest of patients, our employees and the public. We will continue to closely monitor the guidelines and recommendations by our public health officials.
