The injuries that matter most often show up two or three days later
Right after a crash, adrenaline does a good job of hiding things — it’s common to feel shaken but basically fine, then wake up on day two or three with a neck that won’t turn, a low back that has locked up, or numbness running down an arm.
That delay is normal, and it is the reason a lot of people wait longer than they should to have someone look properly.
Symptoms worth having looked at:
- Neck pain or stiffness that isn’t easing
- Back pain, especially low back pain that came on after the crash
- Pain that radiates into an arm, hand, leg, or foot
- Numbness, tingling, or weakness anywhere
- Headaches that started after the accident
- Pain that was mild at first and is getting worse

The doctor you’ll be talking to
Dr. Miguel Jimenez completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and then a spine fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He has practiced in the Atlanta area for more than 23 years and sees patients in English and Spanish.
He treats the full range of spine problems — from a first herniated disc to complex reconstruction — and he does the whole pathway himself: examination, imaging, injections, and surgery when it’s genuinely the right answer.
That last part matters more than it sounds. A surgeon who can operate is also the person best placed to tell you when you don’t need to. A lot of Dr. Jimenez’s patients arrive braced for the worst and leave with a plan that doesn’t involve an operation.
How payment works, in plain terms
Cost is the second thing most people worry about, right after “how bad is this.” Here’s the short version.
For car accident care, we don’t bill regular health insurance. Two paths are available instead:
Self-pay.
Straightforward, and available to anyone. Nothing needs to be in place before you’re seen.
Lien-based treatment.
For patients who qualify, you receive care now and the cost is resolved later out of a settlement.
Whether it applies to you is a short conversation, and one we would rather have on the phone than guess at here.
You do not need an attorney to call us, and you do not need one to be seen. If you already have one, we’ll work with them and make sure they get the records they need. If you don’t — that’s common, and it doesn’t slow anything down. The medical conversation can start today either way.

Dr. Jimenez is a so much experienced doctor. He is always kind to his patients and sincerely takes care of them. I had a shoulder & neck problem after a huge car accident, and they are healed after his treatment. I am glad to have him as my doctor, and strongly recommend visiting him if you got injured.
